Welcome! I am Taylor Gothard and an amateur photographer in the Chicagoland area with a love for animals, airplanes, and landscapes. You will also find me shooting automotive, theme parks, portraits, special events, and the night sky.
I've always enjoyed playing with cameras. It was not until a transatlantic cruise traveling from Florida to Spain in 2011 that I decided to invest in a DSLR along with several lenses and filters. I never felt too comfortable with the camera or inspired by my results. So I shifted to just snapping pictures with my iPhone whenever I wanted to capture a moment.
In 2025, I purchased a new mirrorless camera and began taking some photography and editing courses in preparation for return travel to Alaska. Now I am able to express my love of birds, airplanes, and theme parks through photographs that I am proud to share with others.
I am a member of the Morton Arboretum Photographic Society (MAPS) and ORD Airport Watch (OAW). These wonderful groups help me learn new skills and provide special access to experiences to capture unique photos with other photographers.
